Fort Campbell opened their 2018 cross country season Saturday at the Madisonville-North Maroon Cross Country Invitational.
Gabe Gamez led the Falcon runners with a 51st place finish in a time of 20:54 over the 3.1-mile course. Alec Vaughn finished 76th in 22:44, followed by William DeShazo (83rd, 23:37), Dionte Berry (88th, 23:59), Tyler Mickley (89th, 24:01), Gabe Fonseca (95th, 25:02), and Xavier Smith-Lyles (98th, 25:53).
As a team, Fort Campbell finished 12th.
For the ladies, Haley Davee crossed the finish line in 39th place (27:31), followed by Katie Guevara-Maldonado (45th, 28:24), Hannah Salas (53rd, 30:44), Chandler Burgoyne (54th, 31:03), Sophie Laitila (55th, 32:49), Anjelle Lopez-Andujar (56th, 33:51), and Sheree Pollock (63rd, 35:48).
The Lady Falcons finished seventh in the team competition with 175 points.
