Christian County opened the 2018 cross country season at the Madisonville-North Maroon Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
David Krzywada led the Colonel runners with a 47th place finish in a time of 20:43 over the 3.1-mile course. Nicholas Sanderson finished 63rd in a time of 21:55, followed by Ethan Dooley (80th, 23:190, Dasean Dunham (85th, 23:43), Ryan Simpson (90th, 24:05), and K’Ron Sherald (93rd, 24:25).
Christian Parker of Madisonville won the race in a time of 16:00.
As a team, Christian County finished 10th with 280 points.
Christian County had two runners in the girls’ varsity race. Mystery Siler finished 60th (34:39), and Aly Adler was 64th (36:16). Madisonville eighth grader Joy Alexander won the race in a time of 20:21.
In the middle school boys’ race, Wyatt Fleming was 34th (9:53), followed by Perry Cunningham (63rd), Allen Wells (69th), Logan Carter (77th), Dylan Riggs (106th), Conner Rinehart (128th), and Avery Wells (144th).
Christian County finished 13th as a team.
In the middle school girls’ race, Lillian Westerfield led the Lady Colonels with a 33rd place finish in a time of 12:17. Jaynah Cady was 36th (12:19), followed by Cori-Anna Cunningham (54th), Kaylyn Burgess (62nd), Jessie Paulter (65th), Destiny McGee (98th), and Elizabeth Ellis (105th).
As a team, Christian County finished ninth.
