The Caldwell County Lady Tigers picked up a big 7th District volleyball win on the road Thursday evening. The Lady Tigers took down Madisonville in straight sets 25-16, 25-17, and 25-21.
While the Lady Tigers did pick up the win in straight sets, Lady Tiger head coach Daniel Cortner noted that his team had trouble finding its stride during the match. Cortner credited some of that to Madisonville’s ability to mix up the tempo and keep the Lady Tigers off rhythm.
Cortner had high praise for the defensive play of Riley Thomas during the match, pointing out her ability to cover a big amount of the court to make the plays.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improve to 5-1 on the season. They return to action Saturday at the Best of the West Tournament at Owensboro High School.
