Heritage Christian Academy’s volleyball team has long been known for their service game on the court. Now, they are taking serving into the community.
The volleyball team along with coaches Eldridge Rogers and Brad Boyd delivered bags of school supplies to the Hopkinsville branch of the Salvation Army Saturday. Each player was tasked with gathering the school supplies and writing an inspirational bible verse on the bag to give to those in need.
The players were then bused across town and hand-delivered the bags. Afterward, the players and coaches then met for lunch to continue their day of giving and team-bonding. Coach Eldridge Rogers says this is one of several ways the team learns about servant leadership and bonding throughout the season.
