The Hopkinsville boys’ soccer team stayed undefeated on the year with a 5-1 win over visiting Murray on Thursday night. Murray drops its opener while Hoptown is 2-0.
Hayden Woosley led the way with a pair of goals, joined on the score sheet by Ryan Roussel, Zach Moore and Tyler Greenwell with a goal each. Moore also notched an assist, as did Mason Marschand and Edwar Acosta. Goalkeepers Xavier Bussell and Ethan Bailey combined for the shutout, with Bussell making 2 saves and Bailey 3.
Hoptown will welcome Webster County to the Stadium of Champions on Monday. The Trojans could enter the contest with an unblemished record as well, as they entered Thurday night’s game with Hopkins County Central at 2-0.
