The Todd County Central girls’ soccer team opened its season in Elkton against visiting Grayson County on Tuesday, but the Lady Cougars spoiled the proceedings by claiming a 5-2 victory. The Lady Rebels are 0-1, while Grayson County evens its record at 1-1.
Two first-half goals gave Grayson County the lead at the break, but the Lady Rebels got back in the game on a penalty kick by Maddye Drummond less than five minutes into the second half. The Lady Cougars answered with 3 straight goals, taking a 5-1 lead with under five minutes to play. With only seconds remaining, freshman Tamiya Foster connected on the first goal of her high school career for the final 5-2 score.
Up next for Todd County is an All “A” match-up with Russellville on Thursday.
