Murray scored four goals in each half to ruin Caldwell County’s season opener 8-0 and hand the Lady Tigers from Princeton their first loss in a season opener since 2015. In addition, the eight-goal loss was the worst suffered by Caldwell at Butler Stadium since a 2016 loss to Henderson County.
Murray, who lost six seniors from a squad that went 15-7 and won the All-A West Sectional last year, improved to 9-0 all-time against Caldwell County.
Caldwell County returns to action Thursday at Apollo.
