
Caldwell County is ranked in the top 10 of a pair of preseason football polls released this week. The Tigers are ranked No. 7 in the Bluegrasspreps.com Class 3A rankings and No. 8 in the Lexington Herald-Leader statewide poll.
The Tigers repeated as district champions and lost to Elizabethtown in the region championship. E-town is ranked No. 6 in both sets of rankings.
Caldwell County has five teams on their schedule that are ranked in one or both preseason polls. The Tigers open at Christian County, ranked No. 9 by the Herald-Leader, on Aug. 17. Also on the schedule are Hopkinsville (Aug. 31), ranked fifth by BGP and seventh by the H-L; Crittenden County (Sept. 7), ranked No. 7 in the BGP Class 1A rankings; Paducah Tilghman (Sept. 21), ranked No. 7 by the H-L; and Mayfield (Oct. 26), the number one preseason team in Class 2A in both polls.
