St. Mary had golfers finish 1-2 and took first place at the Christian County Golf Invitational Tuesday at Western Hills Golf Course. Freshman Rocco Zakutney shot a 72 to take first place, while teammate John Wilson was one shot back in second place.
Union County’s Hanner Cardwell shot a 73, including a hole-in-one on the par 3 sixth hole, to finish in third place.
Trae Barber of Hopkins Central shot a 74 to finish in fourth place, and Madisonville’s Jackson Hill, who won the event in a playoff last year, shot a 75 to finish in fifth place.
Hopkins County Central (328) finished second to St. Mary’s team score of 312. Madisonville (336) was third, and Muhlenberg County (347) was fourth.
Trigg County finished fifth as a team with Hunter Reynolds leading the way with an 80. Grayson Thomas shot an 89, while Caleb Federspiel and Darrin Goodwin each shot a 90. Ethan Nolcox added a 92, and Ty Butts came in with a 95.
University Heights Academy came in seventh place with Jiles Wyatt (78) and Weston Wood (79) coming in under 80. Kendall Doer shot a 91, and Jude Doer shot a 134.
Hopkinsville shot a 386 to finish in eighth place. James Folz led the Tigers with an 82. Evan Pyle shot a 96, followed by Will Binkley (100), Joey Falco (107), Calvin Demps (108), and Andrew Riggs (124).
Christian County shot a 391 and finished in tenth place. Micah Smith celebrated his birthday by shooting an 82, and Houston George had a solid round of 94. Ethan White shot a 107 followed by Chase Dawson (108), and Patton George (116).
Austin Rager led Todd County Central, who did not field a complete team, with a score of 80. Jase Hampton shot a 113, and Ryan Williams added a 123.
Sammy Greenwell led Crittenden County’s ninth place effort with a score of 83.
