Emma Talley recorded her second straight top five finish on the LPGA Tour Sunday at the Marathon Classic in Sylvania, Ohio. She finished tied for fifth place after shooting a 3-under par Sunday and 11-under for the tournament.
Three of Talley’s four rounds were in the 60s with her finish depositing $52,301 in her bank account. In her rookie season on the LPGA Tour, Talley has earned $338,410 which moves her from 43rd to 35th on the money list.
Talley also moved to 26th in the Rolex Player of the Year Rankings and has secured a stronghold on second place in the Rolex Rookie of the Year Standings.
The Princeton golfer hit 13 of 14 fairways Sunday and had 28 putts – her third round below her average for the weekend.
Talley now gets a much-needed week off before departing for Europe for a pair of tournaments. She is scheduled to play in the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open July 26-29 and the Ricoh Women’s British Open August 2-5. Her best career finish in a major coming into this season was a tie for 17th at the 2014 British when she competed as an amateur.
