Anna Moore’s standout season on the golf course continued Monday as she qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Tournament during a qualifying event at the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, Georgia.
The former University Heights Academy golfer and current Murray State Lady Racer shot a 1-over and tied for fifth place, nabbing the final qualifying spot. Moore cemented her spot in the field with a birdie on the 18th hole.
Moore was named All-Ohio Valley Conference in the spring after a strong showing in the conference tournament. Last month, she won her second straight Kentucky Women’s Amateur title.
Moore won’t have to go far for the U.S. Women’s Amateur, which is being played August 6-12 at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, about 90 miles south of Hopkinsville.
