Easton McGee picked up his first shutout of the season Tuesday for the Hudson Valley Renegades as they beat Aberdeen 1-0 in a game called after five-and-a-half innings due to rain.
The former Hopkinsville High standout allowed five hits in six innings and walked just one while striking out four.
McGee improved to 3-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.14. He has allowed 19 hits in 21 innings and struck out 15 while issuing just four walks.
Hudson Valley is now 13-5 on the season and two games ahead of Brooklyn for first place in the New York-Penn League.
