With just over one week left in the high school dead period, we are starting to see some action on filling out coaching staffs for the upcoming football season. According to a tweet sent out late Thursday afternoon Hopkinsville High School has selected a new linebacker coach.
John Offut, who spent time has a head coach in Tennessee, will take over the linebacker coaching slot for the Tigers. Offut was most recently a head coach at West Creek in Clarksville. He was also a head coach at Springfield, Macon County, and Northwest.
In addition to that move, Hopkinsville has also announced that John Reed will move to a role where he will oversee football operations and logistics.
The Tigers will open the 2018 season August 17, when they take on South Warren.
