Christian County was the most victorious Second Region school in boys’ sports for the season just ended. The Colonels recorded 58 wins in the four major sports – football, soccer, basketball, and baseball.

Their win total was one more than Henderson County (57), and two more than both Caldwell County and Madisonville.

The Christian County win total was actually eight fewer than the 2016-17 school year. Henderson County saw a drop of five wins, while Caldwell County added one win and Madisonville added five.

Hopkinsville had the biggest drop in wins from 2017 to 2018. The Tigers were the only school in the region last year with double-digit wins in all four sports. This year, Hoptown went from 75 wins to 47.

University Heights Academy, who does not field a football team, finished sixth in the region with 44 wins. UHA had the biggest increase in wins with 11 over 2016-17.

Not all schools in the region participate in all four sports. Livingston Central and Dawson Springs do not field a soccer or football team. Lyon County doesn’t play football, and Crittenden County does not play soccer.

No schools in the Second Region recorded double-digit wins in all four sports in 2017-18.
