Hopkinsville golfer and Murray State standout Austin Knight finished tied for 17th at the Kentucky State Amateur Golf Tournament at Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect.
Knight shot a three-day total of 5-over and finished with consecutive rounds of 74. Because Knight finished inside the top 20, he is automatically in the field for next year’s tournament.
Former University Heights Academy golfer Tadd Switzer finished tied for 65th at 19-over for the three days, and former Christian County golfer Carson Holmes shot 26-over after the first two rounds and missed the cut.
University of Kentucky junior Fadhli Soetarso beat Guilford College coach and former Transylvanis golfer Justin Tereshko on the first playoff hole to win the title after shooting a three-day score of 3-under.
