Hopkinsville High School’s entry in the boys doubles at the Kentucky State Tennis Tournament represented themselves well. Seniors Morgan Demps and Noah Morris picked up a victory and advanced to the second round of the tournament.
Demps and Morris began their day paired up against the Harrison County duo of Luke Bradford and Lucas Sullivan. The first set was a battle with Demps and Morris coming out on top 6-4. The Hopkinsville pair then took control of the match in the second set, winning the set 6-1 to sweep the match and advance to the second round.
In the round of 32, Demps and Morris faced off against the Daviess County entry of George Hulse and Christopher Salamah, who were seeded #9 in the tournament. Hulse and Salamah controlled the match from the beginning and rolled to the 6-0, 6-0 win.
Demps and Morris had advanced to the state tournament by reaching the semifinal round of the 2nd Region tennis tournament.
