Christian County celebrated the achievements of their three softball seniors before their game with Logan County and later celebrated an 8-3 win over the Lady Cougars afterwards.
Seniors Regan Hancock, Lexie O’Daniel, and Halle Rhea Hendricks were recognized before the game. During the game, it was Hancock who played a major role. In the circle, she pitched a complete game three-hitter and allowed one earned run while striking out five. At the dish, she smacked a grand slam that highlighted a seven-run third inning.
Macy Lancaster added a pair doubles as part of a three-hit night, and Emmy Blane had two hits and two RBIs. As a team, Christian County rapped out 12 hits, with both Tyler and Taylor Hancock contributing two hits and an RBI.
Logan County (16-9) scored two runs in the third on a Brea Croslin home run to take a short-lived 2-1 lead before the Lady Colonel onslaught in the home half of the inning. The Lady Cougars added a run in the sixth.
Christian County (27-3), ranked No. 5 in the latest Kentucky Softball Coaches Association Poll, will host No. 7 McCracken County Wednesday at Lady Colonel Field.
