A tough region loss Saturday for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats, as they went on the road and fell to Union County. The Bravettes pitching limited Trigg County to four hits on their way to a 3-2 win.
Union County scored a run in the first and a run in the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Wildcats got on the board in the top of the 4th inning when Hannah Colbert reached base on an error, advanced on a single, and then scored on a passed ball to cut the Bravette lead to 2-1.
The Bravettes took advantage of a Trigg County error in the bottom of the 5th inning to push the lead back out to two runs at 3-1.
Trigg County got the game back down to a run in the top of the 6th inning. Kara Southwood led off the inning with a walk. Hannah Colbert then smacked a double to centerfield. Southwood would score ona passed ball to trim the lead to 3-2. Union County was able to set the Lady Wildcats down in order in the top of the 7th to close out the win.
Hannah Colbert was 1-3 with a run scored for Trigg County, while Ashlyn Keller and Madison Simpson were also 1-3 in the game.
Hannah Colbert went the distance in the circle for Trigg County, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out 13 and walking none.
