Heritage Christian Academy’s bid to repeat as girls’ state soccer champs fell one game short as the Lady Warriors lost to Somerset Christian 4-2 Saturday in the title game.
Katie Herrell and Mauri Jenkins had the goals for the Lady Warriors, who finished their season with a record of 3-6.
Girls’ soccer is not a sanctioned sport by the KCAA, who has asked that interested schools play a developmental schedule to gauge statewide interest. In the first season last year, HCA won the state title.
