Savion Radford and Riley Stallons homered the back the pitching of Jake Terrell to send Trigg County past Madisonville 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Complex.
Terrell gave up a first inning run on an error and double by Jonathon Hogart. He then settled down to allow five hits over the next six innings. The Wildcat senior struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.
Trigg evened the score in the second on an RBI single by Nick Ahart. Radford added a two-run homer in the third to put Trigg up 3-1.
The Wildcats tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning when Micah Brown doubled and scored on a Trevor Cortner single. After Cortner was thrown out trying to steal, Stallons sent the next pitch over the centerfield fence for a 5-1 Wildcat lead.
A bases loaded walk in the sixth added Trigg’s sixth and final run.
Ahart and Hayden Cunningham each finished with two hits for the Wildcats, who have won six straight home games against Madisonville (16-11).
Sophomore Gunner Dameron had two hits for the Maroons.
