An 8-run sixth inning erased what was once a 7-run cushion for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers, with hosts Murray High going on to win 16-12 Saturday afternoon.  The loss is the sixth-straight for the Lady Tigers, dropping them to 6-20 on the year.  Murray wins its third in four attempts to improve to 11-20 overall.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the second, the Lady Tigers erupted for 7 runs highlighted by a 3-run homer by Shelby Harbour.  Harbour was back at it in the third with an RBI double to give Hoptown a 9-1 lead.

Murray put up 3 runs in both the third and fourth innings to trim the lead to 3 at 10-7, before picking up another in the fifth to get within 2.  Hoptown led 11-8 going into the bottom of the six, but Murray answered with 8 runs to take its first lead of the game at 16-11.  Taiya Straight grounded-out to score Lauren Hodge in the top of the seventh, but that would be all Hopkinsville could muster.

Hodge took the loss, working the final 1.2 innings while allowing 3 runs on six hits with a couple of walks.  Marley Hancock was the Hoptown starter, lasting 4.1 innings and yielding 13 runs, 12 earned, on ten hits with four walks.

Harbour was 2-4 at the plate with 4 RBI to lead the Hopkinsville offense, followed by Hodge and Hancock with four hits and an RBI each.  Straight and Morgan Hodge both collected two hits and knocked-in 2, with Sebrina Hodge and Shaniya Straight each driving-in a run.  Nadia Clayton had two hits and crossed the plate twice.

Livy Bogard worked 5.0 innings for the win, allowing 10 runs on seventeen hits while striking-out four.  Emily Dawson was 3-4 for Murray, driving-in 5.

Up next for Hoptown is a visit from the 16-13 Russellville Lady Panthers.  The Lady Tigers lost 8-3 on the road to the Lady Panthers just over a week ago.
