Caldwell County sophomore Maddie Morgan had to win three matches to reach the championship match of the Girls’ Second Region Tennis Tournament this week. She did, including an upset of the No. 2 seeded player in the region.
Although she fell to teammate Belle Englebright in the title match, Morgan says the wins helped her confidence level as she prepares for state. And her attitude on the court saw her win the Sportsmanship Award as voted on by the coaches.
