1)  Caldwell County (18-5, 13-2 vs Region) – The Tigers had a bit of a hangover from their close loss to Somerset in the All-A Classic State Tournament with a setback to Union County. However, the Tigers have played well enough in recent weeks to stay slightly ahead of a Christian County team that is warming up.

2)  Christian County (13-10, 9-1 vs Region) – The Colonels have won four straight and eight of nine by completing their season sweep of No. 4 Madisonville Tuesday. Christian County has a Friday district game with UHA and a home game with No. 6 Trigg County Tuesday.

3)  Henderson County (17-8, 7-2 vs Region) – Henderson County has won four of five with their lone loss in that stretch coming to No. 2 Christian County. The southern Colonels only have two games left with Second Region teams – Saturday at No. 6 Trigg County and Monday against UHA.

4)  Madisonville (15-9, 12-5 vs Region) – The Maroons have won four of five and own a win over Caldwell County this year. Madisonville still has four games left with region opponents, including No. 6 Trigg County and No. 7 Livingston Central.

5)  Union County (10-17, 7-5 vs Region) – The Braves have shown they can beat anyone (Caldwell and Christian) and lose to anyone (Lyon and Livingston) in the region. They finally saw their streak of 11 straight one-run games come to an end before starting another one with a win over No. 1 Caldwell County.

6)  Trigg County (13-8, 7-4 vs Region) – The Wildcats have won three straight games thanks to getting they bats going. They can improve their ranking with upcoming games against the top four teams in the Super 7.

7)  Livingston Central (12-6, 9-3 vs Region) – Despite an 8-6 loss to No. 6 Trigg County Monday, the Cardinals still have the capability of knocking off anyone in the region. Livingston hosts No. 4 Madisonville Thursday.
