Hopkinsville 7th graders Ella Lester and Allie Fort played far beyond their years on the opening day of the 2nd Region tennis tournament in Henderson. They opened play with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Caldwell County, setting up a quarterfinal match-up with 2nd-seeded Madisonville. Lester and Fort delivered an epic performance, pushing the Lady Maroons to the brink before falling 7-6, 5-7, 1-0 (11-9) in a third set tiebreaker. Between matches they spoke about their recent play, and Fort foreshadows their quarterfinal performance.
