Trigg County senior Kaylin Smith was named the Midway University/KHSAA Female Archery Student-Athlete of the Year Thursday at the KHSAA State Archery Championships.
Smith has shot for the Arrowcats for eight years. She was second at both region and state as an eighth grader and finished third at the World Tournament.
She won the NASP Region Tournament as a junior and finished second earlier this year.
Thursday, Smith shot a 286 and finished 40th Thursday at the first KHSAA Girls’ Tournament.
In addition to being captain of the Arrowcats, she is president of the Trigg County FFA chapter and serves as an officer in TSA/STLP, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the National Honor Society.
Kaylin carries a 4.0 GPA and is in the Thoroughbred Academy as she prepares to major in AgriScience Technology at Murray State University.
