When Max Wadlington moved to Lyon County and began playing youth baseball, he wanted a jersey with No. 1 on it. But since several others wanted No. 1, he decided on a number no one else had or wanted – 00. Wadlington has worn the 00 jersey in soccer, basketball, and baseball for Lyon County.
He began playing soccer as an eighth grader and as a senior in the fall, scored 10 goals as Lyon County won the district title and advanced to the Second Region Tournament.
As a 5-11 power forward, Wadlington averaged 14.2 points and 7.1 rebounds for the Lyons, where he has been a three-year starter and has earned All-District honors.
He says baseball is his favorite sport and the one he has been playing the longest. He is batting .344 for the Lyons this season while playing the outfield and pitching. He would like to extend his baseball career into college if he can find the right fit.
Max is very active in clubs at Lyon County High and is considering a career in graphic design.
