It was a tough decision, as they have not played each other yet this season, and they have each been beaten by the same team from Alabama by the same exact same score. But the feeling here is that, right now, the Christian County Lady Colonels are playing the best softball in the region, with Madisonville close behind. So, the Lady Colonels climb to the #1 spot in this week’s YSE 2nd Region Softball “Super 7.”
– Christian County (15-2-1) – The Lady Colonels are a 3-3 tie with top five ranked Louisville Male from being on a 10 game winning streak. When they have played other ranked teams they have, for the most case, not just beaten them, but thumped them.
– Madisonville (8-1) – The only loss for Madisonville is to the #1 ranked team in Class 7A in Alabama. They still have not lost to a 2nd Region team since 2014. They almost lost twice to Caldwell County in the same week.
– Caldwell County (5-3) – The Lady Tigers had Madisonville in trouble on the Lady Maroons home field, and played em tight two days later in Princeton. Not the kind of team you want to play in a one game winner take all situation.
– Webster County (7-6-1) – Schedule has gotten a bit tougher, and the Lady Trojans are still trying to get their footing. Webster County has gone 1-3-1 over their last five games. Still, a team not to be taken lightly as the season goes on.
– Henderson County (5-4) – The Lady Colonels got drilled by McCracken County, then turned around and put a hurtin on Union County. Still a bit hard to get a grasp on just where this team stands.
– Trigg County (13-6) – The Lady Wildcats are the 2nd hottest team in the region right now. Coming out of the weekend they are on a seven game winning streak. Mark down April 30th and May 3rd for big district games against Crittenden County and Lyon County.
– Lyon County (11-7) – Just about the time you were wondering if it was gonna be a “next year” season for Lyon County, the Lady Lyons rip off seven in a row. The next couple of weeks could be huge for the future of this team, this season.
