Heritage Christian Academy split their Saturday KCAA doubleheader at Somerset Christian, losing the second game in walk-off fashion.
In the opener, HCA used a 10-run third inning, sending 15 batters to the plate.
Rachel West had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in five runs for the Lady Warriors. Katie Ruth added two hits and an RBI, and Nicole Holland had three singles, a double, and drove in three runs.
Holland also picked up the win in the circle, striking out nine and allowing just two hits.
In the second game, it was Somerset Christian who used a big inning to get the win. The Cougars sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored five times. They added four more runs in the second inning to take a 9-3 lead.
HCA chipped away with four runs in the third and single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at 9-9.
Somerset Christian, ranked No. 6 in the KCAA softball poll, pieced together a single, stolen base, and single to score the winning run.
Holland had a double and two RBIs, Courtney Allen added a double, and Kinley Deason had two RBIs for the Lady Warriors, who entered the week ranked No. 2 in the KCAA Poll.
On Thursday, HCA played their first game in nearly three weeks in a 14-10 loss at Christian Community, TN.
Rachel West had two triples and a single, and Madison Powell added a double for the Lady Warriors.
Heritage Christian returns to action Thursday in a KCAA contest at No. 5 AIE.
