Heritage Christian Academy roared out of the gate in KCAA play with three mercy rule wins over the weekend.
The Warriors, ranked fifth in the first KCAA baseball poll of the season, beat No. 9 Galilean Christian 19-3 Saturday in Somerset. Elijah Britton had three hits and three RBIs, while Ben Jacobs also had three hits, including a triple, and drove in three.
Josh Jones added three hits and three RBIs, and David Jent chipped in with two hits.
Weston Powell picked up the win on the mound.
In their second game of the day, the Warriors pounded No. 4 Somerset Christian 22-1 with Caleb Jones getting the pitching win.
Trenton Hayes, Calvin Floyd, Josh Jones, and Ben Jacobs each had multiple hits for the Warriors.
Heritage opened KCAA play Friday with an 18-2 win over No. 6 Assumption Academy in Walton.
Josh Jones had three hits and five RBIs, while Trenton Hayes, Weston Powell, Ben Jacobs, and Caleb Jones each had two hits.
Jacobs got the win on the mound and was helped by the Warrior defense that played errorless baseball.
Heritage Christian Academy returns to action Tuesday at Cannelton, Indiana.
