After only managing 6 runs over their last four games, the Lyon County Lady Lyons put up 22 in two wins in the Marshall County Slugfest on Saturday, edging Daviess County 5-4 and blowing out Murray High 17-2.  The Lady Lyons finish the weekend 3-1, and improve to 6-7 on the year.

The Lady Lyons got on the board first with an RBI double by freshman Calista Collins in the bottom of the first inning, but Daviess County tied the game in the top of the second.  With the Lady Panthers leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Collins struck again with a triple to bring in freshman Sydney Melton.

Daviess County restored its 2-run lead in the top of the fifth, before Lady Lyon freshman Kyra Craft doubled to bring in 2 and tied the game at 4.  Freshman Kerstin Craft followed her sister’s lead, doubling to score senior Sophie Bingham with the game-winning run.
