Christian County senior Trinitee Jackson continues to add accolades to her stellar high school basketball career after being named Second-Team All-State by the Louisville Courier Journal.
The Arkansas State signee averaged 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in helping lead Christian County to the Eighth District title and appearance in the Second Region title game. Jackson shot 66.2-percent from the field, which was among the state leaders.
Jackson was named All-State Honorable Mention by the Lexington Herald-Leader last month.
No other Second Region player was named to the all-state team or named honorable mention.
Murray’s Macey Turley was named First Team All-State in voting conducted by statewide coaches. Her Murray teammate Lex Mayes was named to the Third Team, and Alexis Burpo was named honorable mention. All three Murray players have signed to play at Murray State.
A total of just 45 coaches returned ballots to the Courier Journal for their all-state team, which is less than 20-percent of the schools that play basketball.
