No. 8 Christian County hung a pair of crooked numbers on the board and belted No. 12 South Warren 12-2 Tuesday in Hopkinsville.
The Lady Colonels got the long ball from Emmy Blane and Lexie O’Daniel in addition to a grand slam from Regan Hancock in scoring six runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Blane belted a two-out, two-run homer in the third inning, and O’Daniel followed with a homer to right for a 3-0 Lady Colonel lead. Back-to-back doubles by Tyler Shemwell and Hope Jones made it 4-0 Christian County with Hancock and Reni Shemwell adding RBI singles in the frame.
Blane added an RBI double in the fourth inning, and Hancock later cleared the bases with a grand slam to left.
South Warren’s only runs came on an Emma Mills two-run homer in the fourth inning.
Blane, O’Daniel, Tyler Shemwell, Jones, and Hancock all had two hits for the Lady Colonels.
O’Daniel struck out 10 batters in picking up the win in the circle, allowing just three hits while walking none.
Christian County (9-2) plays their second of three straight games against ranked opponents Thursday when they visit No. 4 McCracken County.
