Big Inning Sends Graves County Past Lady Wildcats

The fifth inning proved to be the undoing for Trigg County in their 11-4 loss to Graves County Tuesday at the Complex.

The Lady Wildcats scored single runs in the first three innings for a 3-0 lead until the fifth inning. Graves County sent 13 batters to the plate, scoring eight runs on four hits, two walks, and three Trigg errors.

Madison Simpson doubled in Kara Southwood for Trigg County in their half of the fifth to cut the Graves lead to 8-4.
Graves County (5-2) added three more runs in the seventh inning to put the game away.

Simpson had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for the Lady Wildcats. Hannah Colbert added a double as part of the nine-hit Trigg effort.

Chloe Glover had two hits and two RBIs for Graves County, who improved to 4-0 all-time against Trigg County.

Colbert took the pitching loss for Trigg County despite allowing just eight hits and striking out 13.

Trigg County (4-4) plays in the Marshall County Slugfest Friday and Saturday in Draffenville.
