Christian County senior JaQuon Long signed to continue both his football and basketball career at Dakota College in Bottineau, North Dakota. Long made it official Tuesday at a ceremony at the school.
Long was the leading receiver for the Colonel football team, who had the school’s first unbeaten regular season in 2017. He caught 43 passes for 756 yards and eight touchdowns.
As a junior, Long caught 40 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, he picked off five passes and returned one of those for a touchdown as a defensive back.
On the basketball floor, Long averaged 8.3 points and six rebounds in helping the Colonels reach the Second Region title game each of the last two seasons.
Known for their 10-time national champion hockey team, Dakota College competes in the Mon-Dak Athletic Conference of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
