Lyon County’s bid to return to the All-A Classic Softball state final four was derailed by Crittenden County in 2017.

The Lady Lyons will get a chance at some payback Monday when the Second Region All-A Classic Tournament begins at various sites.

The Lady Lyons (3-6) will host Crittenden County (6-2) Monday at 5:30 at Lee Jones Park. Lyon saw their weekend cut short at the Brentwood Invitational in Nashville, playing just three games. They went back Sunday and lost both of their games.

Crittenden County (6-2) won the All-A region title last year and won the consolation bracket at the All-A State Tournament. One of the Lady Rockets’ losses came to Graves County, who Lyon County beat.

Also in the upper bracket, Caldwell County travels to Livingston Central Monday. The Lady Tigers were finally able to get on the field Friday after a 15-day layoff due to the weather. However, they only got to play on of their six scheduled games at the Jackson County, Tenn. Tournament.

The 1-1 Lady Tigers will face another team that hasn’t seen the field much, the 0-2 Livingston Central Lady Cardinals who have been outscored 22-1 in their two games.

Caldwell County will be looking for their All-A region title in school history.

In the bottom bracket, Dawson Springs will play their season opener against University Heights Monday. The Lady Panthers have seen all of their games rained out to date. UHA’s only game of the season was a 27-0 loss to Christian County back on March 21.

Dawson Springs will be looking to win an All-A region title for the first time since 2011, while UHA will be looking for their first title since 2015.

The winner will play Fort Campbell in the semifinals Tuesday at 7pm at Lyon County. Fort Campbell (1-8) drew a first round bye and will be looking to win their first All-A title in school history.

The championship game will be played Thursday at 6pm at Lyon County.
