
Despite playing tough competition over Spring Break, Christian County dropped one spot to No. 8 in this week’s Kentucky Softball Coaches Association Poll.
The Lady Colonels went 2-2 against four Alabama schools. The two losses were to Hatton, the defending Class 2A state champion, and to Sparkman, the top-ranked team in Alabama Class 7A.
McCracken County, who also played tough competition in Alabama and sported a 3-3 record on their trip south, dropped from No. 2 to No. 4.
Christian County will play three teams ranked in the top 25 poll this week alone. The Lady Colonels will host No. 12 South Warren Tuesday, travel to No. 4 McCracken County on Thursday, and will host No. 10 Apollo Saturday afternoon.
Scott County remains the top-ranked team, with East Carter moving up to No. 2 and Male is ranked No. 3.
Madisonville remains No. 5 and received a No. 1 vote.
Marshall County moves up a spot to No. 18, while Webster County drops out of the top 25.
Caldwell County was the only other Second Region team to receive votes.
