The Lyon County softball team only managed one hit, but found a way to manufacture enough runs to beat Ravenwood (Brentwood), TN 6-5 at the Brentwood Invitational on Friday.  The come-from-behind win improves the Lady Lyons’ record to 3-4.

Lyon County’s ace, senior Sophie Bingham, got roughed up in the top of the first inning, allowing 4 earned runs to put the Lady Lyons in an early hole.  They got a run back in their half of the inning when Bingham came home on a passed ball, but Ravenwood restored the 4-run lead with a run in the second.

The Lady Lyons got back in the game in the bottom of the second, with Kerstin and Kyra Craft both scoring on passed balls to trim the lead to 5-3.  Bingham blanked Ravenwood in the top of the third, giving Lyon County one last at-bat to change the outcome.  Due to time restraints, the game would only last three innings.

Two walks and a hit by pitch loaded the bases for the Lady Lyons, before the tying run came home on a wild pitch.  Another hit by pitch loaded the bases again, and freshman Kaelyn Conger scored on a passed ball to give them the 6-5 win.

Bingham had the lone hit for the Lady Lyons, also scoring a run and drawing a walk.  Freshmen Sydney Melton, Calista Collins, Conger, and Kerstin and Kyra Craft all crossed the plate once and drew a walk, with Conger and Kerstin Craft walking twice.  Bingham pitched all three innings for the win, allowing five hits and 5 runs while striking out four and walking three.
