Caleb Bapp’s two-run double highlighted a three-run sixth inning that sent Hopkinsville to an 8-5 win over Union City, TN Monday afternoon in Crestview, Florida.
Bapp would score on a Layne Jorgensen single to complete the Tiger comeback win.
Union City struck for five runs in the second inning on a single, double, triple, and two Hopkinsville errors. That inning was the only one where the Tiger defense let the pitching down. Robert Justus needed only 73 pitches to throw the seven-inning complete game. He allowed five hits and struck out two while walking no one.
John Duvall was the only Tiger with multiple hits, collecting a pair of singles. Aaron Crosby, Landon Snyder, and Jorgensen joined Duvall and Bapp in the hit column.
Hopkinsville (3-3) will play Henry Clay (4-1) Wednesday evening in Crestview as their week of Florida baseball continues.
