Poe Finishes 15th for Hoptown at NASP State Tournament

Strong shooting from the females helped Hopkinsville High to a 39th place finish at the NASP State Tournament Saturday in Louisville.

Mary Poe shot a 290 to finish 15th out of 1,081 archers in the female field. Next on the scorecard were Juliana Gregory (283, 78th), Lanie Brumfield (281, 107th), and Noella Tucker (278, 163rd).

Chandler Neighbors was the top male shooter with a score of 277, good for 271st. Angel Rodriguez (299th) shot a 276, and Nathan Morris (447th) followed with a 270.

Hopkinsville totaled 3,287 points. Madison Central shot a 3,438 to repeat as state champion. Bullitt Central (3,429) was second followed by Muhlenberg County (3,409) and Henderson County (3,408).

Shelby Sparks shot a 267 to finish 312 in the middle school division, while Will Futrell’s 264 gave him a 411th place finish in the middle school male division.
