Jakayla McSwain has run some of her best times at Murray State’s Roy Stewart Stadium, and now the Hopkinsville senior has committed to the Lady Racer Track and Field team. McSwain made the announcement on her Twitter page Thursday.
McSwain set Hopkinsville’s school record in the 400 meters as a freshman and won the event at the Class 3A State Meet last year as a junior. She also won the 200-meter dash and anchored the 800-meter relay team to a region title last year as well. She has competed at the state meet for Hopkinsville since the seventh grade and looks to break her own school record in the 400 meters this year.
McSwain joins teammate Meghan Easton in committing to Murray State.
