It appears that Western Kentucky University is in need of a new head women’s basketball coach. According to a report in the Bowling Green Daily News, Coach Michelle Clark-Heard is leaving WKU to take over the women’s program for the Cincinnati Lady Bearcats,.
Heard has been at Western for six years, winning four conference tournament titles, with an overall record of 154-48. Western went 24-9 in the 2017-2018 season, and earned a bid to the NCAA tournment by winning the C-USA postseason tournament. The Lady Toppers would lose to Oregon State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
It was just a week ago that Cincinnati announced that they would not be keeping Jamelle Elliott as women’s head basketball coach.
There are also reports that Western will stay inside the program, and name associate head coach Greg Collins as the new head coach for the Lady Toppers.
