Butler County ruined the coaching debut of Todd County Central’s Josh Popplewell with a seven-run second inning and a no-hitter as part of an 11-0 win in Morgantown Thursday.
Warren Cameron struck out eight and only threw 66 pitches in five innings to complete the no-no. Cameron also had one of Butler County’s 12 hits.
Duane Daniels had three hits and two RBIs for the Bears, and Carter Graham had two hits.
Dylan Hurt took the pitching loss for the Rebels, giving up four earned runs in just over an inning of work.
Todd County Central (0-1) is scheduled to host Madisonville Friday. The Maroons beat Lyon County 9-4 Thursday.
