Former Colonel Craft Commits to Young Harris College

Former Christian County Colonel Dixon Craft will take his baseball talent to Young Harris College in Georgia next year. Craft made the announcement on his Twitter site Tuesday.

Craft is currently a sophomore at Rend Lake College. As a freshman last year, Craft batted .326 with an on-base percentage of nearly .400.

This year, he is batting .279 for Rend Lake with a home run and 10 RBIs.

He played for the Paducah Chiefs in the Ohio Valley League last year where he hit .269 with two home runs and 15 RBIs. He also saw limited time on the mound where he had one save and a 1.93 ERA in five innings pitched.

Craft is scheduled to play for the Hoptown Hoppers this summer.

Young Harris College is a NCAA Division II school located in Young Harris, Georgia. The school is situated in the southern Appalachian Mountains in northeast Georgia.

Notable alumni of the school include country singers Ronnie Milsap and Trisha Yearwood, baseball players Charlie Blackmon and Nick Markakis, and Waffle House founder Tom Forkner.
