Helped by a career-best round by Anna Moore, the Murray State women’s golf team came home with a sixth place finish at the UNF Collegiate at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Racers posted scores of 291-295-304=890 and placed behind fifth place Western Kentucky (889) by one shot and three shots off of fourth place Daytona State (887). Old Dominion was the winner at 864, with Chattanooga placing second at 883 and Toledo third at 886.
Moa Folke led the way for the Racers with rounds of 73-71-76=220 for a spot in 14th place in the field of 93 players.
Former University Heights standout Anna Moore tied for 19th place with a three-round score of 222, which included a career-best round of 69 in the first round.
The Jacksonville course played to a par-72 and 5,926 yards.
The medalist was Daytona State’s Jiwon Jeon with scores of 66-69-67=202.
The Racers get back on the course at the Citrus Challenge (March 18-20) in Sorento, Florida at Red Tail Golf Club.
