
The Lyon County Lyons dropped their 3rd game in a row Friday night on the road at Union County. The Braves pulled away a little at a time to take the 59-41 win.
The Braves and Lyons battled back and forth through the first quarter, with the Braves holding to a 17-13 lead when the quarter came to and end. Union County was able to gain a little breathing room in the second quarter, as they outscored the Lyons 15-10 to push their lead to 32-23 at the break.
The Lyons tried to rally during the 3rd quarter. Lyon County outscored the Braves, but only 11-10 to cut the lead to 42-34 heading into the final quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Union County defense limited the Lyons to just 7 points as the Braves pulled away for the 18 point win.
Travis Yancy was the only Lyon to reach double figures with 12 points. Gabe Board added 9 and Max Wadlington had 7. For Union County, Cade Duncan had a big night with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss drops Lyon County to 6-16, while Union County improves to 12-13 with their fourth straight win.
