The Hoptown Hoppers have announced two more additions to their 2018 roster. Western Kentucky University infielder Cody Hartness and Pepperdine infielder Duncan McKinnon were announced Wednesday by the club.

Hartness is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound first baseman from Greeneville, Tennessee where he batted .520 as a senior and .534 as a junior for Greene County High School.

“Cody was one of the first guys we signed when we got this job,” said Hoppers Coach Brock Moss. “He matched very well with the profile we wanted and should be a middle of the order bat for us and offer a lot of raw power out of the bat.”

McKinnon is a redshirt sophomore for Pepperdine and is teammates with 2017 Hoppers Aharon Modlin and Reese Alexiades. The Manhattan Beach, California native attended Purdue for one season before transferring to Pepperdine after his freshman season.

“Duncan keeps the Pepperdine pipeline going for the Hoppers,” Moss said. “He played in the B1G (Purdue) as a freshman and saw action in 37 games. I think that speaks to the type of player that Duncan can be. We fully expect him to be the next in line of successful Hoppers to come from the West Coast.”

The Hoppers have publicly announced six players on their roster for the 2018 season.

Season Tickets are on sale at Charlie Henderson’s State Farm or the Kentucky New Era office. Tickets are $90 each (value over $125 each). Sold in pairs for only $170 or four for only $320. The season tickets will be valid for all 21 Home Games, the OVL All-Star Game, and all Hoppers’ Home playoff games.

Also, the Hoppers will have a “Meet and Greet” for host families and perspective host families at the Carnegie Library Sunday, February 11 from 3 to 5 PM. Current and past host families will answer your questions. If you are interested in being a host family, contact Jamie Folz at Jamie.folz@gmail.com or (270) 889-7909.
