Hopkinsville senior football player JaKevis Bryant has committed to Bethel University to play football. Bryant made his announcement on his Twitter account Saturday.
Bryant led a Tiger resurgence on defense in 2017 by leading the team in tackles (64) and fumble recoveries and was named All-Western Kentucky Conference for Class 4A.
His strong play saw him named to the Kentucky All-Star squad in the Kentucky-Tennessee Border Bowl that played in Sevierville, TN last month. Bryant and his Kentucky teammates won 34-18.
In the classroom, JaKevis carries a 3.4 GPA and scored a 23 on his ACT.
Bethel is an NAIA Division I school in McKenzie, Tennessee that competes in the Mid-South Conference. The Wildcats were 3-7 last year after a 7-4 season in 2016.
