It was a tale of two halves when Trigg County hosted Union County Friday, especially for Logan Thomas. The senior forward scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half to spur the Braves to a 59-51 win over the Wildcats.

Trigg County led by as many as 12 points in the first half before Union County switched defenses and cut the deficit to 31-26 by halftime.

The Braves outscored Trigg 16-6 in the third quarter as Thomas took over, scoring 11 points in the frame on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. Trigg, meanwhile, hit just 3-of-10 shots in the quarter and turned the basketball over five times.

After seeing Union end the third quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 42-37 lead, the Wildcats began the fourth quarter with a bucket to pull to within three points. Union County, who hit just 4-of-11 free throws through three quarters, knocked down 7-of-11 in the fourth. Trigg got to within three points one other time but got no closer.

In addition to 28 points, Thomas grabbed nine rebounds and had three steals. Marqualio King joined Thomas in double figures with 10 points and five rebounds. Cade Duncan added nine points and eight rebounds.

Trigg County got 18 points from Devron Triplet, who scored 15 of those in the first half. Kendric Adams added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Kirome Bingham added 10 points.

With the win, Union County (9-11) snapped a three-game losing streak to the Wildcats.

Trigg County (10-7) will host Fulton City Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
