It’s no secret that Trinitee Jackson is the key weapon for the Christian County Lady Colonels on the hardwood. However, the senior kept her college choice a secret, until a few minutes after she signed her letter of intent Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3 Jackson pulled out an Arkansas State University hat, and she and family members in attendance showed off their Arkansas State apparel, ending a recruiting battle that had heated up in the past year.

Jackson originally committed to Hofstra and had drawn interest from Murray State, Austin Peay, Alabama A&M, and Tennessee State. However, visit to the Arkansas State campus at Jonesboro sold her on the school and made her college decision more definite.

Lady Colonel Coach Kiki Radford praised the work ethic of Jackson, especially in the classroom. Jackson echoed her coach’s comments and thanked her family, coaches, and God. She also thanked her AAU coach, former Austin Peay standout Trenton Hassell, who played 10 seasons in the NBA.

Jackson has flourished with Radford as Lady Colonel head coach. She averaged eight points and six rebounds as a sophomore, and jumped those numbers to 13 points and 10 rebounds – Radford’s first season as head coach.

This year, Jackson is scoring 15 points a game and grabbing nine rebounds as the Lady Colonels are off to a 14-4 start and unbeaten in region play.

Arkansas State competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The Red Wolves are 9-9 this year and own a win at Florida.
