Trigg County’s offensive woes continued in their 49-26 loss to Caldwell County Tuesday night at Wildcat Gym.
The Lady Wildcats endured a seven-minute scoreless drought in the third quarter that saw them get outscored 24-7. Peyton Young hit four 3-pointers in the quarter where she scored 16 of her game-high 19 points to help the Lady Tigers extend their 18-9 halftime lead.
Caldwell’s defense was able to force 36 Trigg turnovers which turned into 26 Lady Tiger points.
In addition to Young, Jacey Jaggers reached double figures with 10 points, while Bella McConnell and Majah Hollowell each scored six points. Karsyn Parker grabbed seven rebounds.
Adri Phillips led Trigg County with seven points and eight rebounds, and Lauren Oliver scored six points.
Trigg County (6-12) has lost 14 straight games to Caldwell County dating back to 2011. They will play at Calloway County Friday.
Caldwell County (11-6) will host Crittenden County Saturday.
